What Causes A Rapidly Growing Cyst Under The Skin On The Thigh?

I had a pimple/cyst under the skin on the inside of my thigh. I figured it was a cyst since there was no head. Over a couple days it grew a bit larger from the size of a dime to a quarter. I would feel around it and squeezed it a little, not so much to pop it there wasn t a head but to kind of feel what it was/get the texture. It hurt and then got even bigger, this time expanding out over another day till it was huge. Still under the skin, no head. I took a pin and tried to drain it (sterilized it with iodine wipe) and only blood came out, mostly dark and then some lighter blood. For the small hole it seemed like a lot of blood came out. I ve had cysts before and think it might just be another cyst but the rapid growth/size of it made me think it was something else. Anything ideas?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

It may be sebaceous cyst or else. Consult the surgeon for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

If it is a sebaceous cyst, it may be removed by surgical excision under local anesthesia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel
