What Causes A Raised Rash On The Head With Migraine Headache?

my 16 year old daughter woke up with a raised area on her head (the size of a large mosquito bite) that was so sensitive to the touch that it started a migraine. She has had a migraine the remained of the day. The area is still raised. We are treating the migraine. Just wondering about this raised area.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Probably this is an insect bite or an infection of the hair follicle (folliculitis).
In both cases, there is no specific treatment needed at the moment but just observation.
If it does not go away in a week or it is getting any worse, she will need to see her doctor.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
