What causes a popping sound while moving neck to one side?

Hi a few days back I was in the gym doing my shoulder routine, once I finished my overhead barbel press. I realize that there is a popping sound coming every time I move my neck to my left. There is no pain or any other symptom accept a popping sound at a particular spot. Please advise

Hi,

Only popping sound in the neck is not a concern usually unless it is accompanied by pain or limitation of movements. However, get X-rays or neck as a precaution and rule out any abnormality.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

II have fairly large swelling in the middle of my neck just above my adams apple. I have had thyroid blood tests and ultra sound scan all negative. Could it be a thyroglossal cyst? I know is not normal to have such huge swelling in my neck and now feel a bit worried. I can actually move it from side to side.

today i was lying down and then (i can t remember which but) i either touched or moved my neck and i heard it crack (it sounded like several cracks at once) immediately after this it was very painful on the left side of my neck to move my head or neck, and even walking hurt. my head is no longer centred in my neck and is closer to my left side of my neck than the right. a couple of hours later i noticed that my left shoulder had dropped further down than the right one. what s wrong?

I m not feeling so well. Both sides of my neck feel swelled. Its bothersome to have clothing, like a tee shirt against the sides of my neck . I feel a bit dizzy, like I m moving while I m sitting still. The top of my head feels like my hair is standing on end. I have a very slight headache.
