What Causes A Person To Be Afraid Of Injections?

Hi, im going to have a blood test next week and im absolutely terrified, i dread the moment that im sitting at the chair and the doctor will get out the needle and start. I cant calm down, im so scared, its next friday and im petrified. what do i do? Also if i refuse to let them take my blood, can they still do it?

Welcome to HCM,
Hello,most of the people are scard of needles weather it is injection or drawing of blood but both becomes necessary at times,if your doctor has advised blood test that indicates it is very important to diagnose and treat you accordingly other wise the treatment may go wrong and you may end up with more problems ,I would advice you to not think about to much and terrify yourself try to divert your mind to music or things you love to do ,during drawing blood take your friend and keep talking to her/him and not let your mind on the needle
If you refuse blood collection they cant force you to do it against your will,
I advice you to divert your mind to other things and get the blood test
