What Causes A Painful Red Rash In The Armpit?

I have a sore red rash in my armpit, left armpit only for 4 days now. I ve tried to keep that area clean and put alcohol on the area...it is not going away and still hurts...Could this be the shingles? I have had the shingles shot about 3 years ago..help.

Hello Dear. Probably you are having folliculitis. That is infection of hair root. You take tablet amoxcalv 3 times a day for 5 days and apply neomycin ointment for few days. If there is pain you can take pain killer tablets. You should be alright by then.
