What Causes A Painful Lump On The Knee And Swelling In The Leg?

I have a bulge sticking out of my left knee above the knee cap. I had an x-ray and I do not have a broken bone. The bulge is about an inch in diameter. My doctor will not respond to me. The pain is traveling up and down my left leg. My left knee cap is smaller than my right but my left leg is very swollen. My veins are more visible on my left leg. I have a hard time walking and moving my leg. The more I walk, the worse it gets. My pain is extremely severe. After resting it for several days, that did not help. Neither ice nor heat helps.

you might have some soft tissue or ligament injury of the knee as have mentioned your swelling of the knees is persistent, there might be some underlying soft tissue injury as well kindly consult a orthopedician and follow his treatment
