I bent over and loosened a skimmer basket for a pool at that momement a sharp pain under my ribcagecame I applied a lidacane patch the next day 3 days later a small bruise started now a week later the bruising is as big as half a sheet of paper whats up

I really appreciate your concern, it may be allergic condition due to local application in my opinion better to apply Diphenhydramine lotion, but most important is clinical examination because such case needs this for right diagnosis and treatment it may be kind of viral manifestation in all these cases clinical examination is must hope this information helps.
