Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my name is Gina. I had a bilateral mastectomy and finished chemo in july of last year. Yesterday I was at the mall and changing in the dressing room when I noticed a rather large nickel sized hole like dimple on my left shoulder under my scapula on the same side that I had a tumor removed from breast cancer about 2 years ago and it hardly painful. Should I be concerned?????????
Hello, It can be due to swelling or edema. I would suggest you to show it to your doctor. He might advised you to get ultrasound examination of the shoulder to find out cause of this. I think it can be due to collection of lymphatic fluid and it is quite common after mastectomy.I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks.
