Hello and thanks for the query, I am sorry for the pain and agony you have been through. This may have been a miscarriage. Please check to see if you passed any fleshy masses as they indicate an abortion. It is sometimes difficult to confirm if there was a pregnancy after bleeding is complete as most of the signs of pregnancy like positive pregnancy test and increased size of the uterus regress after bleeding. It is advisable that you visit a gynecologist and check to see if you were pregnant. A urine test must be done as sometimes it gives a positive result up to 24 -48 hrs of abortion. A sonography will help to determine if there was a miscarriage and if it was whether it was complete or incomplete. Sometimes a few bits may be left inside and later cause infection or heavy bleeding. They need to be removed surgically. If there is any other reason for the heavy bleed like fibroids, it may also be seen on ultrasound. I suggest that you exercise an extra caution here on and get a pregnancy test done after 7 days if you miss a period to avoid such mishaps. Hope I was able to solve the issue.
