What Causes A Lump On The Tube Connecting To The Testicle?

I have a hard lump on my left testicle. The size is less than a pea. I noticed this a month ago and it has not changed in size ever since. I do not know if this lump was present before also or if it is new. It is not painful unless I press it hard. The lump is on the bottom (slightly to the left) of my left testicle. I felt that it is attached to a tube connecting to the Testicle and not exactly on the testicle, so it feels separated from the testicle as such. When I press this tube it gives a more sensitive pain than when I press my testicle (is this the epididymis?). Hope you have some information i could use to understand what the lump could be.

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.

The commonest cause of such a lump is a cyst or a mass attached to the epididymis as you have rightly mentioned.

This is always to be confirmed by examination of an Urologist and confirmed further by ultrasonography and color doppler examination.

If you have completed the family meaning have children, if you are married, this can be excised and sent for histo-pathology examination.

You get two benefits by doing this:
1. the disease is out of the body and
2. you get the final diagnosis.

If you are not married , the surgery is not undertaken unless it is felt that this can cause more problems.
