Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have this strange lump, very tough and almost senseless, small and on the right side of the back of the base of my neck. I tried crushing it, but it releases this foul odor and possibly a liquid everytime. And it won t go away. Is there anything I can do to remedy its existence, and what is it called?
As per your complain lump at the base of neck that is releasing foul odour fluid on squeezing seems to be due to infection in the region like Hair follicle infection or Folliculitis while it can also be due to ingrown hair..
I would suggest you to consult a Physician and get evaluated and he can do a clinical examination to rule out the exact cause..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics along with topical application of triple antibiotic ointment after cleaning the area daily and removing the infectious discharge or pus.. In case if it does not improve then Incision and Drainage can be advised for relief..
Hope this helps...
Regards.
