Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain there seems to be obstruction in the duct of the
salivary gland with either some foreign body or any crystalline stone formed from the minerals present in saliva and it may at times gets swollen in some patients when the salivary flow increases leading to swelling of the gland..
When you took him to the doctor and if there was no swelling it is possible that he got misdiagnosed..
You should take him to oral physician and get evaluated and if needed an
MRI SCAN can be done to rule out abnormality in the glands..
You should also keep a watch on him and just counsel him and tell him to immediately tell you when there is swelling..
Also keep noticing him especially during eating as the saliva flow increases during meals and swelling can be pronounced during eating..
Treatment can be planned only after diagnosis is done and the treatment is removal of the stones either by palpating the stones and removing in case of superficial ones while deep stones needs surgical removal....
Hope this information helps..
