What Causes A Large Discolored Bump On The Scalp?
I have a large bump on my scalp that is slightly discolored, irregular shaped and has been there for several months... should I have it evaluated by a dermatologist or maybe my primary care physician or could it just be a normal irregularity in my scalp?

According to history you are having bump over scalp....
Cause for that should be evaluated as scalp is not irregular usual...
If you post photo than comment on that can be given..
If needed FNAC can be done to rule out nature of lesion...
For benign lesion surgical excision can be done....
So depending on cause further treatment can be done
Advise : Surgeon or dermatologist consultation for examination...
