What Causes A Large Dark Blister On The Left Foot?

My husband has been diagnosed with bullous pemphigoid-- he has a large rust colored blister on the top of his left foot. Perfectly round about quarter size. Blister fills the whole area. Not itching not warm to touch not painful at all. He has been prescribed steroid cream and has a referral to a rheumatologist. Do you think it is bullous pemphigoid since it is not in the usual area and not itchy at all?

Hello,

Blisters commonly occur on the feet due to ill-fitting footwear, repeated friction of the skin, frostbite, skin allergies or due to pinched skin (due to heavy weight lifting, etc).

The blisters may be initially filled with fluid, with time blood may fill which gets darker or clots form (dark blister).

Apply Thrombophob ointment locally. You are suggested to see a GP, you may require to get it popped up or drained after proper immunization. You may need antibiotics depending upon the infection.
