What Causes A Lack Of Appetite And High Fever?

Hello. I m a 55yo female. Three days ago, in the evening, I registered a 101.1 degree fever, accompanied by chills and body aches. Since then, I ve had low grade fevers (topping 100 degrees, but just barely) every day, despite taking dayquil and/or ibuprofen to reduce the pain and fever. I am able to get up and get around, but I feel very weak. Yesterday, I slept for 12 hours straight, which I never do normally. Every morning, I wake up with no fever, but it returns during the day. Both my occipital lymph nodes are tender. My neck is sore, and the glands there are tender also. I have no congestion, no rash, no cough (although I just got over a bad one about 2 wks ago). Around the second day of the fever, I also got a bad headache, but its effects are only really noticeable when the meds wear off. I ve also experienced a lack of appetite, but no nausea. My skin is sensitive to the touch, which is a symptom I always get with a fever, and never otherwise. (Better indicator than a thermometer!) I have a newborn granddaughter, and I don t want to hold her until I know I m not contagious, but this fever is not going away. Thank you for any advice you can give.

most probably you are having typgoid infection go for some blood investigations like complete bleed count, mp , and widal test. it will make the picture clear. it can also be viral infection. your illness can be easily treated by antibiotics like cefixime. for fever you can take paracetamol. hope i cleared your doubt and my answer is helpful to you.
