What Causes A Heart Murmur?

Good Evening, I have been on Metformin for 6 months, I am under great Dr care and I see my family Dr. frequently...last night I went to Dr and she heard a murmur, I have never had this happen before and I have no symptoms at all other than night time panic attacks, I jump up out of sleep hyperventalating and My doctor has never heard a hear murmer in me and now 6 months after starting Metformin there is a heart murmur.

At first I would advise you not to panic.
Heart murmurs indicate some valve disfunction, but the exact picture only can be seen by echocardiography.
There can be heart murmur with only mild valva disfunction, which does not need any treatment and doesn't alter health.
So, there is nothing to worry. You can undergo echocardiography and find out the cause of your murmur.
