What Causes A Hazy Area At The Bottom Of The Right Lung On X-ray?

I had very intense pain on my right side at the end of June. It went away after about a week but left a lingering pinching feeling when I took deep breaths. I have also coughed up very small amounts of blood on 4 different occasions and am having some shortness of breath. My chest x-ray showed a hazy area at the bottom of the right lung and I will be getting a CT scan next week. What could this be?

Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you should definitely get done CT Thorax with constast. By your symptoms like pain, shortness of breath, blood in cough, I differentiate four causes.
1. Pneumonia
2. Pleural effusion
3. Malignancy
4. TB
So get done CT. This will confirm the thing. You can also go for sputum examination for culture and , AFB and cytology.
