What Causes A Hard Lump On The Right Jaw Line After Wisdom Tooth Removal?
Hi I got my wisdom teeth out on Thursday its been 4days my left side is fine not swollen and it feels great . My right side on the other hand has this lump on my jawline that is Rock hard . It's not swelling down at all I called my dentist and she said to wait a day but I'm really worried what could it be
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of hard lump on the right jaw line after wisdom tooth removal which could be because of the residual infection leading to abscess formation or expansion of the cortical plate. As it is due to inflammation it will slowly subside as process of healing progresses.
- Take proper course of antibiotics. If pain occurs take DiclofenacIbuprofen combination.
- Warm fluid could be because of persistence of infection.
- Brush and floss daily. Take antimicrobial mouthwash.
This lump is common if swelling subsides as most common way of healing. If it doesn't get better in few days then again consult your dentist for proper examination and rule out cause like hematoma . Doctor may drain the lump or extent the course of antibiotics
Hope your concern has been resolved.
