What Causes A Flap Of Pale Skin Attached To Gums After Wisdom Tooth Removal?

On Saturday November 7th, I got 6 wisdom teeth removed. Where one of the teeth was, there is this skin flap that is bugging me. It had been on one of the wisdom teeth before it was removed and now just sits awkwardly in my mouth. I cant chew food on that side of my mouth, as it irritates the flap and the edges of the flap are turning kind of white..I guess you could say. Why is it like this and what should I do?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain a flap of skin that are present hanging in mouth after extraction of wisdom tooth seems to be a gum flap that has been left out and not involved in healing..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can either stitch the flap with the adjacent gum flap or can remove it surgically..
You can do warm saline gargles as the white appearance of gum seems to be due to inflammation..
Take Ibuprofen or tylenol for pain..
Take a soft diet and also avoid hard food..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
