Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a semi-new runner and completed a relay race 2wks ago (30 hours total, split up in three legs of about 5 miles each). I am experiencing some pain in my right foot on the right side. Nothing major or sharp, but a dull pain. It kinda goes away after about amile of running, but returns after. Have I stretched a muscle wrong? Bruised it? Hairline fracture? Please help. Thanks!
Your symptoms are suggestive of a local tensed muscle. Anyway, I recommend consulting with an orthopedist for a physical exam and some tests: - Complete blood count, PCR, ESR - Vitamin D plasma levels for possible deficiency
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
