What Causes A Delayed Period, Discharge, Nausea With No Premenstrual Symptoms?
i was on depo for 4 years, I've always had a regular period, my last shot was scheduled for 12/14 and i didn't get it because my husband and i are trying to conceive. My last period was 1/3 and my next period was supposed to be 1/31 and i have not gotten it. I had a light pink discharge for 2 days but that was it and most recently have been feeling very nauseous. I have taken about 4 home pregnancy tests that were all negative. My next period is scheduled 2/28 but I am not feeling any premenstrual symptoms. Could I be pregnant?
Depot Progesterone is a Progesterone preparation. After its withdrawal, the chances of pregnancy after unprotected intercourse do exist. It also leads to very light bleeding to no bleeding sometimes.
However, at the time of immediate menses after the withdrawal of Depot you had slight bleeding. This low bleeding could be due to Progesterone effect. Since all your four tests are negative for pregnancy, you are not pregnant.
It is not that every time premenstrual symptoms are present in every woman. So you need not rely on premenstrual symptoms. Probably you will get menses of some greater quantity by February end.
If the bleeding continues to be low, you may require some oestrogen support for few months. Please report to your Gynaecologist in that case.
I hope this helps you.
