What Causes A Circular Spot On The Floor Of The Mouth?

Hi, I have a small circular spot on the floor of my mouth. It just recently appeared and appears red around the base and almost looks like a zit. It s hard to the touch and hasn t been hurting or giving me any other pain. I ve looked at several pictures of cancerous spots on the floor of the mouth, and find nothing that resembles it. My concern is that I ve been a smokeless tobacco user for eight years. So I m obviously aware that my risk of mouth cancer is higher than to others. Any help is much appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

A photo would be very helpful through the diagnosis.

Based on the description it seems like a fungal infection.

I suggest to use a antifungal solution such as Daktarin to treat locally the lesion.

I also recommend using Diflucan for three days, one tablet a day.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
