What Causes A Burning Sensation In The Throat?

Smoked some weed that I think was tainted with some bad substance, having burning sensation for a about three months, tried being on omeprazole, had all kinds of tests done, going in for MRI of my throat tomorrow. Any suggestions to try and solve problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, any corrosive or chemical burns or inflammatory changes in mucosa over throat can cause these symptoms.

Indirect laryngoscope examination or otolaryngologist review is recommended to look for any signs of inflammation or vocal cords nodule or laryngitis.

MRI can help to rule out any anatomical disturbances. Gargles with mouthwashes and local steroids, as well as antihistamines, like Cetirizine or Loratadine may be helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
