General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concern for your beloved mom.
The burning sensations in place of fracture are suggestive of 'pinched nerves' (nerve compression) which appear to be due to direct compression by bone ends or plaster pressure, indirect compression of oedematous tissue or cast, or reduced blood flow.
She needs to be re-evaluated by her treating orthopedic surgeon and probably by relieving cast pressure and physiotherapy would help to solve her problem.
Best regards.
