What Causes A Bruise Under The Ribcage With A Popping Sound?

Hello, I recently had an injury which was a bruise under my ribs on the left side. All x-rays were negative with breaks or tears. I continue to ice it, use my breathing machine that helps with taking deep breathes. When I move suddenly, it will randomly pop on that same side. What s wrong with it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is normal to have poping sensation or pain on the side you have injured recently until it heals completely. The healing duration depends on your age and on other diseases you might have.
I suggest you to :
-rest
-use antiinflamatory drugs for the pain
-use ice packs at the place of pain

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Suela Gjata
