What Causes A Bowel Movement Followed By Cold Sweats And Light Headedness?

Is there a name for the following situation: following a normal bowel movement I experienced cold sweats, light headedness, as shortness of breath . Tongue felt swollen. EMTS came and blood pressure was 145/70 but heart and blood sugar were normal. Not a stroke. The EMTS gave this condition a name. - a response to a bowel movement. I recovered within 45 minutes and did not need to go to the hospital but am still curious if this situation has a name. Thank you!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It could sound like a vasovagal reflex.
It is a relevant differential diagnosis for syncope and dizziness, and it almost always is a result of the Valsalva maneuver. Valsalva maneuver is the abdominal pressure exerted to void bladder or bowels. It is harmless.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
