What Causes TIA During Pregnancy?

Hi, I had a suspected TIA when I was 41 weeks pregnant, now every now and then and sometimes one after another when I think about it, I start to shake vigorously, my heart starts beating really fast, and I get a tingling feeling in my arms, face, legs I have to breath really deeply and try think of something else for it to stop! I rarely have any chest pain! It happens sometimes when I am in bed on and off, is this a panic attack or something else?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

This is a panic disorder. Are you breast feeding your baby, if yes then you need to be cautious about which are prescribed for this.Try to handle these episode psychologically and try to ignore them. Try some relaxation techniques like deep breathing, thinking of something else or yoga. Medicine will be prescribed if these are not subsiding and involves tab fluoxetine or tab alprazolam, which you can get prescribed from your local doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
