What Causes Pleurisy?

I am 23 years old and since I'm a kid I have this heart sting every now and then, sometimes not for months then day after day. I cant really breath because the pain gets worse the deeper I breath. I heard about pleurisy but I dont know what it is or if its that... what can it be??

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Pleurisy is inflammation of pleura. It is caused by pneumonia, tuberculosis, pleural effusion, bronchitis etc.
So pain of pleurisy is continuous, not intermittent or episodic.
So I don't think you are having pleurisy.
But better to get done chest x ray to rule out above mentioned possible causes of pleurisy.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
