Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
DVT occurs when a blood clot forms in the veins , often in your legs. Blood clots can be caused by anything that prevents blood from circulating normally or clotting properly.Risk factors for DVT are:
-Inherited blood clotting disorder
-Prolonged bed stay such as hospitalization/paralysis
-Injury or surgery
-Pregnancy in women
-Birth control pills and hormone replacement therapy
-Overweight/obesity
-Smoking
-Cancer
-Heart failure
-And so many others
DVT is a serious condition and should be managed in specialized units to prevent deadly complications like pulmonary edema. You will need to be in the care of a Cardiologist for better management.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
