What Caused Lung Infarction?

I had open heart surgery in 2011 and for 2 years after that I have severe lung pain. Multiple ERs and doctors said it was in my head. In 2013, they found out that 1/3 of my right lung was dead. During surgery they removed 2/3 of my lung because they said that more lung was dead than they thought. I m still experiencing chest pain, its sharp. It can be difficult to breath also. They want to either remove the rest, use a balloon, or place a pump inside me for continuous medication delivery (non-narcotic). What do you think about all of this? They are not being clear on the cause of my lung dying but at first they said it was a complication of the heart surgery. I d like to get an unbiased opinion.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

As you explain the history it might be from an embolism that has happened probably during heart surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jnikolla,
