What Caused Bruise On The Outer Side Of My Leg Below My Knee?

I have a bruise on the outside of my right leg just below my knee. I ve had it for a week and i got it by being hit with a field hockey ball. It keeps spreading, hurts when I walk and itches. Also its numb some of the time on the exact spot I got hit. Is this normal?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is just a contusion after that trauma.

Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself.

As of now, you can apply icepacks for faster recovery. Better to take bed rest for few days.

If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopedician and plan for an X-ray.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
