My nose gets a sore & red on the very tip also sore in side, some Days I also have very sticky Mucus in Throat & Chest and a Block nose The Mucus is Clear or white . This may follow the drinking of alcohol any Type eg wine Or Beer but takes 3/5 days later I am 62 years old & this as only started in Last 3-4 Years

The most common causes is: Collumellitis, an infection of the front portion of nose from within. This also infects the cartilages hence not allowing the cure. Nose pricking habit does not give it a time to heal. The alcohol in any form increases inflammation, adding to the problems.
