Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having these feelings like my brain is twitching or being shocked. It only lasts a few seconds. I was in knocked unconscious a month ago in a car accident but haven t had any problems or concerns since. I used to get these occasionally for the last year or two but today it s happened several times. I don t have any other symptoms. No dizziness or blurry vision or memory problems. Just the sudden, painful zap to my brain but it does leave my tongue feeling kind of numb and a ringing in my ears. I don t have a history of epilepsy or any other brain issues and my only medical problems are carpel tunnel, an old lower back injury, and depression and some anxiety. What might this be and should I seek immediate medical attention? I don t have insurance
As there is ringing ear, numbness of the tongue with twitching sensation of brain, I would consider at least a primary physician work up and clinical examination. Depending upon the clinical evaluation, your doc may guide you further for the need of neurologist consultation or some sort of scan evaluation if needed.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
