My wife had her gullbladder out 10 months ago and is still having pain. The pain is manly located under her right lower rib. She has had countless blood work done, CT scans, edoscopy, colonoscopy, 24 hour urine test, and stool samples taken. Do you have any idea what may be bothering her?

Hi,

Presentation of post cholecystectomy pain.

Differential: surgical incision pain, fat intolerance or stone remnants in common bile duct.

Ultrasound abdomen maybe done to rule out stones in common bile duct and to see the tissue underlying incision.

Advice:

- take Famotidine
- also get a complete blood cell count(CBC) test
- avoid OILY food and FAT diet altogether
- avoid eating stomach full and mouth full
- avoid spicy food

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Tayyab Malik
