What can cause obstructive sleep apnea like symptoms at night while on antacids and allergy medication?

yes. I take over the counter acid reducer / prevecid and daily allergy medicine/ zyertec and have experienced waking up in the middle of the night gasping for air but each breath feels like I am breathing in pure acidic oxygen. I have spoken with several ppl lately who indicated that their husbands died in their sleep from this. Can you tell me what it is and how to combat it.

There are multiple causes for this, but importantly we need to rule out cardiac cause in you considering your symptoms. However, such things may be seen with acid reflux in lungs.
So you should habe ecg, echo done. If reflux is still persistent then get medicines optimized for it.

Dear Doctor, My fiance is suffering from obstructive sleep apnea, as per his doctor says. He mainlys suffers from severe headaches during the day which force him to sleep the moment they are induced. Also, he is not able to sleep for more than 3 hours per night. He just cannot fall asleep. The most recent symptom includes severe backaches. His stress levels can be described as high owing to work and other pressures. Could you please tell me what is happening to him? Is his condition curable? Is he going to die? ---Extremely worried

My husband has central and obstructive sleep apnea and uses a V-Pap machine. He still thrashes around at night (kicks and punches) and gets headaches and has episodes of confusion. He has had his heart congestive heart failure and his brain CAT reason can be found for the apnea (idiopathic). Is there anything else that can help him?

I am a behavioral therapist. I currently have a 9 year old client with Down Syndrome. He is experiencing difficulty with night waking. Mom reports he is going to sleep around 8pm and waking each night around 1am. At this time he insists on mom getting him back to bed / sleeping with him / staying with him / etc. I am researching the incidence between DS and sleep apnea, sleep waking, etc. Any recommendations?
