What Can Cause Blood In Stool?

Four days ago I passed blood and my stools were a crimson. I went to see an emergency doctor yesterday who, because this was a holiday, did not examine me merely told me to make an urgent appointment with my own doctor. He did test my urine and said there was no blood present but there was some, slight, evidence of an infection. My stools this morning were nowhere near as bloody, indeed they were more brown then bloody and were normal sized. Since this has happened I have had periodic fevers, ending up with my clothing absolutely soaking. I have also had a lot of wind which has gone now. I am seeing my own doctor tomorrow but would be grateful for your opinion.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Blood in stool followed by chills and fever, evidence of urinary tract infection on urine examination and excessive gases indicate that you may be suffering from intestinal as well as urinary tract infection.
Since you are visiting your Doctor insist on detailed examination and investigations.
A course of an antibiotic active against intestinal and urinary tract infection can help you to get solved your problem.
Also take symptomatic and supportive management.
Plenty of oral fluids.
