Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just turned 40 last month. I went for my yearly annual exam which included an ekg. The results came back abnormal. I am 5'4 and weigh 190 lbs. Ever since the results I feel "funny" in the heart area. My follow up with the specialist is in a few days. Is there anything I can do? What are the possible reasons for an abnormal ekg? What can I do about them
Hello welcome to HCM. First of all the 'abnormal ekg' is very broad term, no doctor can give you proper guidance on that term, u should give the proper diagnosis written by the doctor.
Second thing that your weight is too high for your height. So in future you have high risk for HTN, DIABETES, ABNORMAL CHOLESTEROL AND HEART DISEASE.. My advice to you is
1.For complete heart check up your doctor will do trademill stress test and Echo study of heart. From that studies you will get definitely an ans about your problem.
2. Brisk walking for 40 minutes is necessary along with avoidance of fried and oily food.
3.check your blood sugar levels, lipid profile and kidney profile also. Thank you.
