What Can Cause Nausea?

I am a 22 year old female that has constant nausea. I take Zofran every 4 hours I also have swollen lymphnodes that seem to be associated with this. Ive had many procedures done and currently see a GI doctor but I am hoping this sounds familiar to one of you and maybe you can give me some advice. This has been ongoing for 2 years and I have had my gallbladder removed because it wasnt functioning but that clearly was not the problem.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are different possible causes for persistent nausea.

The possible causes are:(1) pregnancy

(2)viseral disease- conditions related to the organs in the abdomen.
This includes conditions such as reflux, obstruction of the bowel, gall bladder disease, liver disease, urinary tract infection

(3)metabolic or toxic- side effect of medication, high calcium levels, alcohol use, high urea

(4)central nervous system- related to brain or spinal cord- mass in the brain, vertigo

Your doctor may consider imaging of the GI tract to rule out any GI causes, imaging of the brain may also be needed.
In addition blood tests can check calcium and urea levels.

The treatment would depend on the cause found.

I hope this helps
