What Can Be The Reason For Puffiness In The Eyelid?

For the last 14 months I have been experiencing eyelid puffiness that never returns to normal. Used to wear contacts have for 30 years, never a problem. Came home one day noticed my left eye was drooping on the left side, it was purplish too. It took an hour or so for it to return but ever since that day the eyelid itself never was the same. I have gone to 2 Ophthalmologists, 1 Octioplastic, Dermatologist, GI, and PCP and none have been able to find the cause. I was basically told it wasn t a GI issue, Dermatologist ruled out cancer but thought it was either infection or inflammation, both treated with antibiotics and prednisone. Although the steroid reduced inflammation as did steroidal drops prescribed by one of the Ophthalmologists the condition will later return. The Octioplastic physician said better hygiene as it was flaky the day I saw him, not always the case however. Typically eyelid looks puffier than the other and red...I can t rub it or look out these symptoms show their ugliness. Go to bed wake up in the morning as if I was in the sun and my eyelid was burned and have to use Vaseline and warm compress to get it to reduce which it will eventually but may look red the whole day and is awful. I don t want to keep treating the symptoms. I need help please! I haven t worn contacts since that day I came home. I have noticed slight changes in vision but 2 different Ophthalmologists really couldn t see anything wrong with my eye. The last one saw some issues but recommended I see her partner to confirm Corneas were fine. Haven t had the appointment. This seems both internal and external. My left cheekbone absolutely becomes red when I think I am rubbing my eye gently enough to get away with it. It then will eventually peel. I don t have the sniffles, I have CT of my sinus, no issue. I am not getting headaches, fevers or any other major side effects. I am in the process of changing soaps and laundry detergents, can guarantee it won t make a difference. I know my body too well. I am also a Crohn s patient. Never had this in my life. Can t make the correlation as to what is the underlying cause. Please help me.

don't go for further investigation. you have exhausted every thing. only two things are possible. one is dry eye syndrome for prolong use of contact lens and other one is allergy. remove contact lenses and use your specs. apply refresh eye tear drop 3times. take levocetrizine 5mg tablet daily.stop all other medication. you will be normal in two weeks time.
