What can be done to improve focus and concentration?

Hi, I ve struggled my whole life with difficulties in being able to comprehend, understand, remember what I learned, and focus. I also, find myself having trouble sleeping. I have been in and out off college and now trying to go to school to become a LVN. I have trouble getting good grades and maintaining them. Can you give me an idea on what to do

My step granddaughter is 6 yrs old and I am wondering if she has adhd. She is in first grade and is having trouble reading. She loses her attention on basic daily life goals like brushing her teeth, doing homework. It has to be totally quiet for her to do homework or she gets off track. She also is constantly in motion whether it s hanging off the couch and flipping or fidgeting. She has been through some major life changes. Her dad and his new wife obtained full custody as her biological mother is a drug addict and unstable at this time. I feel bad for her because even kids in her class don t want to really play with her because she acts a little weird around them. What would you advise. Her step mom who is my daughter made an appointment for her to see a psychologist.

Hi, My sister has 7 year old twins. One boy & 1 girl. Both of them are doing well. The girl is very smart and finishes all her work on time, but the boy is unable to focus on anything. He is also smart - but does not want to sit and do anything. He doesn t want to read or write. Even in sports lessons he doesn t show interest. What kind of evaluation will help him. Should we see a child psychiatrist ? What kind of tests are available in Chennai ?
