What Causes Chronic Diarrhea Despite Normal Endoscopy And Colonoscopy Results?

What can be causing chronic diarrhea? My daughter has done stool labs. Nothing found, negative for C Diff, parasites..... She has had an upper endoscopy and a colonoscopy. Both were normal. We are waiting for the pathology results from the colonoscopy done today. What are we missing? She is miserable!

Hello,

There can be various issues as gut sensitivity to particular foodstuff, gluten sensitivity, lactose intolerance via many HLA disorders of the immune system, gut flora alterations or others.

A detail of colon biopsy is the best predictable tool to proceed in this instance.

So you are requested to approach back with the biopsy report in follow up session.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
