I originally thought I had burned myself with my heating pad but after doing some research I have come to the conclusion that it is a skin ulcer. I have been treating it with an over the counter ointment that has an antibiotic in it as well as cortisone 10 - it has improved greatly but I am wondering if there is something else I can use to help heal it without having to go to the dr?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Looks like the skin burn has now turned into an ulcer. Continue using the antiseptic cream. You could also take oral antibiotics to increase the recovery. Augmenting Duo 625 should be fine. Dress the wound. Damp wounds heal faster and are less likely to get injured and further infected. Also work on your diet: foods rich in copper, zinc, vit A and vit C will help heal the wound faster too.
Hope that helps!
