Hi,

Welcome to Healthcaremagic Forum,
In the practical aspect there is not much difference in the complications with respect to the age. The complications which might happen in the children can happen in the adults also, except for the bleeding and pain, which is seen more in adults due to prolonged history of infection.

Take care

Regards

i had a tonsillectomy 4 months ago and am still in pain, and it always looks like there are ulcers in the back of my throat. I ended up in the ER initially with an abcess in my right tonsil and that side of my jaw and ear and throat are constantly hurting. The Dr. prescribed me some ativan to relax the muscle but i'm concerned about what appears to be constant ulcers in the tonsil beds

Hi, this is my first time writing, I have a uncomfortableness in my throat. Its not sore, its not swollen, it doesnt hurt when I swallow, I do not have any other signs that it may be Lymphoma. I am 35 yrs old. I do smoke marijuana alot. I went to a friend who is a medical assistant and he checked my lymph nodes and I had all my blood work done. Everything he said came back normal except my blood pressure is high and my cholesterol is high. Sometimes it is more tight than other days...but no pain just discomfort. My friend assured me that I do not have Lymphoma. i also still have my tonsils, So i dont know what could be causing this. I also checked and I do not have any symptoms that lean towards cancer EXCEPT the tightness of my throat. What can it be? Thank you

Hello, i would like to know, does the hole where both tonsils were close up after tonsillectomy? If so, when does it close up? I am 5 days post-up and still in a lot of pain. I also refuse to look in my throat for the next 2 weeks because its traumatizing to do so.
