What Are The Uses And Side Effects Of Progesterone 100 Mg?

My doctor prescribed progesterone 100mg once a day on days 14-25 of my cycle to help with heavy, painful periods. I am going on vacation on day 28 of my cycle. Can I continue taking the progesterone for an extra week to delay the onset of my period?

Hi dear if you do not want your periods to come you can continue for another 4-5 days but not more than that. Uses of progesterone includes regularising menstrual cycle, prevent miscarriage as a part of hormone replacement therapy. Possible side effects are irregular bleeding on withdrawl, cramps, pain, headache but it is relatively safe medicine with temporary side effects. For that I advice Tab. Acetamenophan twice a day and Tab Pantop D (In case of side effects onLY)
