Dr. Grief (really?) .. My sister in Houston has been prescribed escitalopram 5mg. 1/2 tab daily, because She cries a lot. Her husband s doctor is now hers. At ages 90 and 87. resp. he is her care-giver. She has no official diagnosis of Alzheimer s, yet has been told this over and over again by her husband. I just spent 10 days w/them in Houston. The trauma of moving to a senior facility and back to their house ...since Feb., was an overwhelming task for them. All this against her wishes. What is this medication indicated for? What are possible side-effects? What precautions as to use w/Donepezil, Carvedilol, Enalapril, and Clopidogrel and Namenda plus Atorvastatin, should be adhered to? PLEASE! She has lost all her autonomy to this 2nd husband of 9 years, and has LONGEVITY in our family history! Thanks for any help.
