I have been taking toprol for over five years, and since October my Dr. prescribed ramipril to take both at the same time. I have been coughing in the last three weeks. I am away from my town, and the Dr. here thinks that is acid reflux, please advise me.
HELLO AND WELCOME TO HEALTH CARE MAGIC. YOUR PROBLEM SEEM TO BE DUE TO SIDE EFFECT OF RAMIPRIL TAB YOU ARE TAKING. YOU NEED TO GO TO YOUR PHYSICIAN FOR SWITCHING YOU OVER TO SOME OTHER ANTIHYPERTENSIVE MEDICINE INSTEAD OF RAMIPRIL. YOUR COUGH WILL DEFINITELY GET IMPROVED IN FEW DAYS TIME. HOWEVER IT MAY BE DUE TO ACID REFLUX ALSO FOR WHICH YOU CAN ADD AN ANTACID TO YOUR MEDICINES FOR FEW DAYS. BUT THE PRIMARY CAUSE IE RAMIPRIL TAB DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.
