I have a schwanoma tumor in my vagus nerve in my base of my skull. Two surgeries and gamma knife radiation have not helped. Tumor still slowly growing. On opiate therapy for pain. Had mri in december2013. For almost a week I am smelling a strange smell. Like a strong body wash like lemon-mango. Can this be a symptom of my tumor? I know benign can turn to cancer since the tumor has been bothered with cutting part of it out then it grew quickly and slowed down. Help. I am worried.i will call my specialist tomorrow.
