Hi, I m pregnant... my EDD is 24th July and basically I was just wondering what I should do as I have been reading up on the internet on something which matches the same as me and its got me pretty worried to be honest, the thing I read up on is something called trichomoniasis I dont know what it is myself but I have been really putting off having sex with my partner as I have been itchy/sore just at the bottom of the vagina, I have a watery white - green colour discharge and it hurts when I have had sex in the past I dont know what to suggest and wanted some help on what to do?
Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease. If symptoms do appear ( almost 70% of infected people do not have any signs or symptoms), they can include: vaginal itching, yellow or gray-green discharge, smelly and foamy discharge, redness of the genitals.
An infection during pregnancy is associated with a higher risk of having a low-birth-weight baby and preterm birth.
Trichomoniasis can be treated by antibiotic ( such as metronidazole ). Your partner should be treated as well.
In my opinion You may suffer from trichomoniasis and You should contact Your doctor so he or she can check You and prescribe treatment. It is very important because You are pregnant.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
