What Are The Symptoms Of Sphenoid Sinus Infection?

.My brother has had a severe headache for 3 weeks. He is in the hospital and after tests they say he has both ears are very swollen and he has sinusitis. But he started vomiting again and the head pain started all over again. Do you think it could be a Sphenoid Sinus Infection?

Hi.

Noted the history related your brother who is admitted to a Hospital for headache, both ears swollen, sinusitis, started vomiting again, wants to know whether this can be due to Sphenoid sinusitis.
Headache with vomiting can be due to intra-cranial tumor, increased pressure, vascular caused like vasculitis, migraine and so on.
Sinusitis, vision problems can be another cause.
Hypertension can cause such headaches.
Sinusitis as mentioned can cause headache and needs CT scan of sinuses to know whether they are affected by polyps, inflammation, any other disease that is causing the blockage of their opening into nasal cavity and thus causing headache.
If there is sinusitis then medical treatment for 3 weeks with an anti-inflammatory medicines, oral and topical steroids along with oral and topical decongestant may give relief. Further care by avoid the instigating or enhancing factors can help him better life.
Hypertension or any general disease casing headache also needs to be ruled out.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
