What Are The Symptoms Of Shingles?

I have symptoms of shingles, but the onset was very different. 48 hrs. Ago my back and other parts of my body were covered in red bumps or more accurately red lines on my back but red splotches on belly, shoulders and buttocks. They do not itch but feel more like a stinging sensation. My left ear was very itchy last night but better today. I had a tick bite (very tiny brown tick) on Friday which I removed quickly. The rash appeared on Sunday. Does all this sound like shingles or someone who is very allergic to insect bites?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If the symptoms last for at least a few days up to a week then it is possibly shingles.
Shingles is not usually associated with a short term rash.

If the symptoms only lasted a 1 to 3 days then it is more likely an allergic reaction.

I hope this helps
